Our Getaway to Broken Bow Oklahoma

We love road trips, so we decided it was time for another one!  Just so happened that the weekend we chose to getaway was my birthday weekend, that made it all the better!  We packed a few things, loaded the side by side up and headed to Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
We had so much fun the whole time! Starting with the trip there, we laughed and sang along with old songs on the radio.  If you want to amuse yourself, buy a dash cam and use it on road trips.  Watch back the footage and you'll crack yourself up, at least we do!  I'm pretty sure we should take our act on the road, oh wait.....we already do! :)

This is the one we have if you're interested.
As usual, I try and add a few videos and photos to my Instagram so we will have it to look back on, if you want to see some video, just look for this tab in my profile.  I'm ddcamp170 on Instagram.
First stop was to get fueled up for our trip of course and my honey bun always checks and double checks to make sure everything is strapped in good while the truck is fueling.  I'm pretty sure he's one of the safest people I know! But that's a good thing, right! :)

This is our 2016 Honda Pioneer 500 Side by Side.
Here's the little cabin we stayed in for two nights.  These are the Kiamichi Cabins and this one is named Perch Cove.  Its not like the cabin we stayed in when we visited the Smoky Mountains, but it's still cute none the less!
Here's the living area with its cute cabin vibes going on.  Such comfy couches too!
The kitchen area is all ready for your cooking needs, the only thing you need to bring is your own coffee and food!
There is a nice king size bed in the bedroom along with a TV for your lazy viewing pleasure!
Nice double vanities in the bathroom.  See the door there to the right of the picture?  That's a washer and dryer if you are going to be staying a while and need to do some laundry.
The first stop we made after we dropped off our stuff at the cabin was the ranger station for the national forest because since we brought our side by side we wanted to make sure of the places we were allowed to ride.  Also, my honey brought his drone and wanted to see where he could fly it too. No flying in the national park though! :(

We have the DGI Mavic Air Drone, click right here to see it.
When we walked up to the front door, a nice lady who works there was holding this sweet little guy who had crashed into the window and stunned himself.  I sat down and talked to them for a bit then went on inside where my honey was.  By the time we came out, he'd flown away again! Yay!  Isn't he beautiful?  They had many humming bird feeders and regular bird feeders all over the lawn around the building.  The humming bird noises were awesome!
We followed the road on around to the Beaver's Bend State Park visitor's area.  They offered a free museum all about the timber work in this area along with a little gift shop as well.  The museum was very interesting.  We love a good museum!
This big wooden totem poll greeted us as we approached.  I believe he was taller than the building!
This guy was way taller than me and he was greeting everyone who entered the building.
Inside the museum were lots of carved items from wood.  This snowman totem was so cute!
The next morning we were up and ready to go riding in the forest!  It was beautiful!  It was probably the best ride we've had, ever....well, in my opinion! lol!  All the trails look like this, fully maintained and easy to pass through with lots of tall trees.
While we were riding along we happened upon this gorgeous stream! Isn't it beautiful?  The water was so clear and refreshing.
Of course we had to take off our shoes and dip our feet in the cool water.  There were tons of sun fish babies swimming all around.  You can see some of them there by my honey's right foot.
I packed us a picnic lunch and we had that while we enjoyed the sights and sounds of the stream we stopped at.  Yummy!
Occasionally we would stop and get out and walk around.  It was gorgeous there!
That evening we decided to eat out and we chose a restaurant called House of Burgers and Blues.  The burgers were delicious and very generous.  The waitress told us that sometimes they have live bands out in the yard on a big stage out there, unfortunately they were not there that night.
Sunday we headed home.  It was my birthday so my honey decided we would stop and eat some lunch at the Cracker Barrel.  Lunch was good!  Of course I had my honey snap a picture of my 52 year old self for the memory books.  One of these days I'm going to get me one of these Cracker Barrel rocking chairs!
