My 2022 Patriotic Decor

Hey there!  How's the weather in you area?  Ours here in Texas is blazing hot already!

To me that means it's red, white and blue season and I am so happy about it! Woohoo!  Wait.  Is it too early?  NOPE, not for me!  I put out RWB starting in May and leave it through the 4th of July.  You will probably see another post or two before its all over! :)

Anywhoobs, let's get started for now.  This vignette was a challenge on Instagram.  You can see that right here.  These scissors are very special to me.

This is my Mamaw's handwriting on a piece of masking tape.  She gave me two pair of scissors when I was a young mother.  This pair is my great-grandmother's, my Mamaw's mother's scissors.  The other pair were my great-great-grandmother's scissors.  The mother of my great-grandmother. Isn't that fun?!  I am so proud to have them!

Another one of my favorite treasures is this vintage LIFE magazine with the first moon walk on it.  It's a special edition! Guess what?  It was FREE, sitting out in the garbage on the side of the street. Uh huh!

Do you collect thermoses? No? what's wrong with you? Lol, I'm just kiddin'!  They are really hard to come by in my area so when I find one its like Christmas to me!  They're perfect for RWB decor.

It's taken me a lot of years to collect all of my colored glass.  I'm always searching and I do find lots, but Imma cheapo, so it's a slow collection.  Oh and I'm also very picky, but believe me that when its good and cheap, I grab it.  This cobalt blue votive was a recent find at $2!

This is my current mantle for the red, white and blue season.  There's more of my thermos collection.  No, that's not all of them.  Oh! I just started collecting those tin picnic baskets on the hearth there, they're also hard to find.

This view will probably change.   I normally keep tweaking here and there throughout the season.

I hope I've inspired you to pull out all of your red, white and blue goodies and get to decorating soon!

Check out my last post right here to see more of my old junk collection.
