I very rarely buy new decor and if I do, its from a dollar store or Goodwill and on rare occasion, Walmart.
To me Thanksgiving reminds me of food and family so I tend to decorate my old hutch, Ophelia, with food related items at this time of year.
Nearly everything here was thrifted with the exception of the little Pilgrims and Indians figurines which I purchased about 30 years ago when my boys were small.
The Scrabble sign was a $1 find at a yard sale recently. The spice tins were literally from my childhood, my sweet Mama gave them to me when she cleaned out her spice cabinet. The florals and old speckled roaster were Goodwill finds and the gold doily was an Etsy find.
I paid .99 cents each for these cute figurines. I still have the boxes they came in with the price tag on them. The store was called MJ Designs, better known today as Michael's.
Here are the Indian pair, they are so cute! I've put them out every year at Thanksgiving since I bought them.
Of course my Pioneer Woman dishes with their Fall colors are perfect pieces to go here this time of year too. That old silver spoon was found at a thrift shop and was .79 cents. Its so heavy and such an interesting shape. I had to have it!
All the goodies on top are of course food related as well. That button pumpkin picture was a little DIY I did a few years back.
Here's our coffee station. Extremely simple right now. Sometimes I tend to "over do" but not this time, in this spot! Haha!
I made that plate last year, see that here. Those pumpkin swizzle sticks are a Goodwill find as well as the cute little owls. I also love collecting the Rae Dunn mugs and my Pioneer Woman pieces like the sweet little cow creamer. The wooden hexagon I got from Kendra's Threads.
That burlap wreath I made using all Dollar Tree items. See that how-to here.
On another note, if you read about us selling our house here, I just wanted to add that we recently reduced the selling price in hopes of boosting it up in all the sites again. We've had several lookers, but no offers. Not much has changed since we lowered the price, so the next thing to do if we don't get any increased traffic is to take it off the market and wait until Spring when the market gets going again. So sad and disappointing, but its just how it works. I also believe that everything happens for a reason, so we shall see! :)
See my last post here to save 30% off through the end of November!
If you loved this idea and want to save it for later, be sure to pin it to your favorite Pinterest board. I have a Pinterest board all set up just for Farmhouse Decor Ideas and I'm pinning something new every day. Won't you join me?
GREAT NEWS! I now have an Amazon Storefront! If you ever want to purchase anything I'm showing you here, you can pop over to my shop and see what I've picked out for you! Click right here to visit.
It doesn't have to be done all at once. It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!
