Hey there!
How're things going in your part of the world? We have had such hot weather here in Texas, but it is June, sooooooo. You know what hot weather means, right?
Time to bring out the patriotic decor! I've mentioned several times before that I love red, white and blue season. I also love to be crafty too.
You will need the following items to make your own blocks:2 x 4 wood cut to a 3" x 3" size - I used scraps
Chop Saw (or have the lumber yard cut them for you)
Sander or Sandpaper
Tacky Glue
Paper Glue
Scrapbook Paper in red, white and blue
*I used my Cricut to cut out the stars from heavy card stock, but you could also purchase wooden stars or cut them out by hand. My stars were cut at 2" using my George cartridge.
**Paint is optional, if you prefer to paint your block before adding the papers.
Step 1: Cut your scrapbook paper to fit the top of your block. I placed the block on the backside of the paper and roughly traced around it, then cut it out.
Step 2: Using tacky glue, squeeze a generous amount out on to the top of the block.Spread the glue around the block using your finger.
Step 3: Place the paper onto the glue and smooth on to the block. Make sure its all smoothed and attached on all edges.
Step 4: Lightly sand off the paper edges on all sides. This will remove the excess paper.
Step 5: Add the star to your blocks. Like I said above, I used card stock for my stars, so I used paper glue to attach them to each block.
They're cute stacked up or just set out all in a row.
