Vintage Inspired Valentine Decor

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day!  Are you ready?

Here are a few vintage inspired valentine's day decoration ideas for you.  I collect old junk and use it in my decorating.

Ophelia is ready!  In case you don't know, Ophelia is my old Hoosier cabinet.  Isn't she a beauty?  I've had several people ask me if I was ever going to paint her? Ummm nope!  I love her just the way she is!

For Valentine's Day, my theme is usually RED!  I love red, its my favorite color and I collect lots of things that are red.

Here's the view looking from Ophelia.  This is the living room where my 3 cats and I hang out and watch TV.  Yes, they watch TV.  Hazel especially loves TV.  Can you spot her here?

Throw Pillow Covers, here and here. Very affordable too!

More red stuff, even a bowl full of old cookie cutters with red handles.

Easy centerpiece idea:  Grab a tray (mine is not vintage) and fill it up with lots of red vintage goodies and plop it on an old doily. TahDah!

That tiny valentine with the picture on it is my sweet Mama when she was about 7 or 8.  She gave it to me recently.  She also gave me the red gingham candy box that she saved from my childhood.  Those are the best treasures to me!

More old stuff here too!  The Glitter Heart Garland is new though!  I just made it this year, see how to make your own HERE.

I like to use lots of homemade decor too, like this sign and the pinwheel.  I love crafts almost as much as I love old junk! :)

Go ahead and use unsuspecting things in your decor.  I used this sifter because it has a red handle, then I added to it being sure to leave that handle showing.

Mustn't forget the dining room table! My centerpiece here is all on top of a cake stand.  That just raises it up and makes it more grand.

Old silver pieces on a silver platter for the win!

Always new mixed with old in my house, its gonna happen, ya know!  Oh! Don't forget to sprinkle vintage doilies all over the house too! *wink*

I have small collection of pink things that I normally group together.  They're currently hanging out in the dining room this year.

See, gotta have doilies, everywhere! Oh, and Fenton glass too, especially if it hobnail!

I also created a special place setting using the dishes my Mama gave me.  These were our childhood dishes that we used daily.  I'm happy to have them now.

I also sprinkle lots of old stuff in my bedroom too.  Oh and cats, gotta have cats!

If you need information on my bedding, look here.

More new and old mixed together.  That's my favorite, as you can tell.

Ask me any questions you may have down below.  I'll get back to you ASAP!
