Of course adding an umbrella straw makes it even better! This is so easy, anyone can do it! You will need four things. Cucumber, Lemon, Water and a gallon container with a spigot.
We actually leave this jar in the fridge and fill our water bottle before we're off to work each day. You can keep adding filtered water to the mix a few times until your cukes and lemons are done!
Cucumber Lemon Infused Water = Detox Booster
Cucumber lemon infused water is very popular for a good reason. This combination is alkalizing, aids in digestion to help flush toxins from your system and reduces your appetite. Add mint for even more digestion support.
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 gallon filtered water
- 6-8 mint leaves (optional) I didn't have any mint on the day I made this.
For one gallon of water, you need one cucumber and one lemon.
Cut them both into slices like so.
Add the slices to your jar.
Fill with filtered water. Chill and then serve.
Here are a few fun facts, in case you didn't know:
The benefits of cucumbers are:- Antioxidants
- Contains multiple B vitamins (B1, B5, and B7) – B vitamins are known to help ease feelings of anxiety and relief some of the effects of stress.
- Loaded with potassium
- Natural anti-inflammatory food (other top anti-inflammatory foods are: Cloves, Ginger, Rosemary, and Turmeric) I've added Ginger and Rosemary to this mix too.
- Natural Diuretic which helps aid in weight loss
- Cleanses your system
- Freshens your breathe
- Reduces inflammation
- Has Vitamin C which boosts your immune system
- Helps keep your skin free and clear
- Boosts your energy levels
You can also make these into individual servings by using a quart sized, wide mouth Ball jar as well. That way they are grab and go with no hassles. You would add the following to each jar.
- 1/4 cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 lemon, sliced
- 1 quart cold water
It doesn't have to be done all at once. It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!
