DIY Holiday Room Spray

I love the holidays as well as the scents of the holidays.  I also love to make up little inexpensive gifts to give to my family and friends.  I've got an awesome little yummy smelling project that fits both of these categories and I'm going to tell you how I did it so you'll be able to make some and give as gifts too.
Who wouldn't love to get a gift like this? I know I would!  And best of all, it only takes two ingredients to make it.
You will need Witch Hazel and an essential oil scent of your choosing.  For my first batch I decided to use doTERRA's Holiday Joy.  There are SO MANY holiday scent recipes on Pinterest.  Check out my essential oil board here for several of them.
You will need the following to make your own room spray:

Witchhazel - 5 tablespoons
Essential Oil (8-10 drops)
2 ounce amber glass bottle
Small funnel
Tablespoon measuring spoon
Ribbons and such for decorating the bottle if you wish

I suggest using dark colored glass bottles because the plastic ones tend to absorb all your yummy oils.
Place the funnel in the bottle and add (5) tablespoons of witchhazel.
Then add 8-10 drops of your essential oil. I used the doTERRA Holiday Joy.  You may have to use more drops if you use lower grade essential oils.

NOTE:  Ask me how to save lots of money when purchasing your very own doTERRA oils.
Now place the sprayer nozzle back on the bottle and tighten down.  Tilt the bottle back and forth to blend the oil into the witchhazel.
Now if you want to decorate your bottle to make it a bit more festive, you can add a tag with the name of the scent you used.  You can also add a few ribbons and such to achieve the festive look.

First, I used my computer to make the tag.  I chose the Bromello font at 18 pt.  You'll want to put the wording toward the middle of the page.  Now print it out on regular copy paper.
This is how it should look.
I used a piece of Kraft cardstock to make my tag with.  This scalloped piece is one I had left over from anther project, but of course its way too big for my bottle so I'll cut it down a few steps down.

Place a piece of double sided tape on the back side of your cardstock.  Now center it over the already printed wording on your copy paper and stick down firmly.  Run it back through your printer.
Now its printed on your cardstock.  I used the smallest scalloped Nestie die I had to cut it down to size.
I used my Cuttlebug and ran it through to get my final cut out.
Now for the tag backing paper.  I chose a scrap piece of red paper I had in my scrap bin, grabbed the next to the smallest circle Nestie die and cut it out using the same methods as above.
I glued both pieces together with my ZipDry glue.  This is the BEST glue for paper projects!
You'll need to punch a hole in the tag to run a string through, so I grabbed my tiny hole punch and punched one hole in the upper center area.
I used some button twine to thread through it.  Just enough to tie around the bottle neck.
Tah-dah! A cute tag with the scent name on it.
Tie on your tag and then doll it up with lots of ribbons and such to make for a lovely little gift that everyone will love!  Each bottle of room spray cost me less than $1.50 to make.  It could possibly cost you more if you don't already have the decorating items on hand.

If you loved this project and want to save it for later, be sure to pin it to your favorite Pinterest board.

It doesn't have to be done all at once.  It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!
