How to Make Stove Top Potpourri

My sister in law gave us this little bag of potpourri makings and the recipe for a family Christmas gift this year.  This could be used anytime in the winter when you have the heat on and want to keep your home smelling lovely and keep the air moist at the same time.
See that sweet little Christmas print up there?  That's a freebie that I got from Finding Home Farms, click HERE for your freebie too!  Look HERE for my very own countdown to Christmas project.
Stove Top Potpourri

1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1/2 cup dried cranberries
4 cinnamon sticks
2 tablespoons whole cloves
4 bay leaves
3 cups water

Combine ingredients in a small pot and simmer over low heat for as long as desired.  Add more water if it gets low.

To give as a gift, add all ingredients (except the water) in a ziplock bag leaving the orange and lemon whole of course.  Place your ziplock in a brown bag and tie with a ribbon that has the recipe hanging from it.
I simmered this on Christmas morning and it was a delightful scent floating through the house as we opened our gifts.

It doesn't have to be done all at once.  It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!

I'm Linking to THESE lovely and FUN parties!
