Frugal Fall Decorating

Happy Sunday!
I don't know about you, but we are having some very nice weather lately. It's been much cooler and we've even had rain a few days in a row! The cooler weather is making me think about Fall decorating, so I've started gathering up my goodies!
I've had this old speckled black granite pot forever.  I dug it out cleaned it up and just dropped in 4 bundles of Fall flowers that I found on sale at Michael's the other day. They were 99 cents per bundle and I think they are gorgeous!
This little beauty took me all of about 10 minutes to create and that included hunting down the pot, cleaning it up and removing the tags from the flower bunches.  Oh and the best part.....it costs me 4 whole dollars!
So, shop your home for fun old goodies and then add a bit of {cheap} nice stuff and you've created a little lovely for a little money too!  That's my kind of decorating!
Speaking of lovely.....I snapped this rainbow this morning while sitting on my patio sipping my coconut cream coffee and watching the humming birds play.
Isn't it lovely? Our simple reminder of God's promise.  I of course didn't notice it at the time I was snapping the picture, but the neighbors variety of trees that skirt the photo didn't do anything but make the picture more beautiful, don't you think?
And here's a little update on our latest project.  We are further along than this picture shows you, but I wanted to save the good pictures for when we reveal the final results of we "DIY Rookies" version of installing wainscoting and chair rails in the dining room.
This is how the arched way is coming along.  There is still some tweaking to be done and then some paint, but I am really loving the look of our new archway.  It's such a dramatic difference to the space!

It doesn't have to be done all at once.  It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!

  2. This is gorgeous! I have everything I need to duplicate this, if I can only dig it out. We moved 4 months ago and I'm still buried. Love your style!
