Vintage Inspired Cocoa Bar and Cocoa Recipe

Hey there!  Good news! I close on my new home tomorrow afternoon! Yay!  I'll be officially moving in next weekend, but don't think I won't be taking some stuff over there in the meantime!

Maybe some Christmas decorations!?!  Heehee!

Seriously, its getting closer and closer to Christmas and I love this time of year! Are you ready yet? Yeah, me either! I still a few more things to buy.

I wanted to share my little cocoa bar that I set up on Ophelia.  In case you don't know, Ophelia is my old Hoosier hutch.  She's orange and green and perfectly chippy.  She's my very best and favorite treasure!  You will more than likely see lots of her here on the bloggity blog. Sorry, I don't have a full picture of her this time.  CLICK HERE to see her in a past Christmas set up.

Anywhooooobs, back to the cocoa bar!

I do enjoy a cocoa bar during the holidays.  I normally try and set up one somewhere so that we can enjoy a hot chocolate and some treats too.  Chocolate on my cocoa bar is a must have, no questions, its gotta be there!

Serve up some cheer!

Here's a cocoa mix that you can make up and keep in a jar on your bar or give as gifts for the holidays.

HOMEMADE COCOA MIX

Ingredients

  • 2 cups instant dry milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sift in the following ingredients.  Powdered sugar, instant dry milk, cocoa powder.
  2. Whisk in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Store in an air-tight container or jar for up to 3 months.
  4. To make your hot cocoa, add 1/3 cup of mix in a mug, stir in 1 cup hot water or warm milk, (I prefer milk) add any toppings of your choice.

I use lots of  vintage items to decorate with in my home.  Vintage cookie cutters are perfect for a cocoa bar, dontcha think?  I always wonder just how many cookies these sweet little cutters have made over the years.  Sometimes you can tell its LOTS and other times, they look brand new and never used.  I LOVE the really used ones the best!

I like to stock my bar with a variety of cute mugs and yummy cocoas too.  I find my fun cocoas at the grocery store, especially around the holiday time.  Oh, and chocolate too, gotta have chocolates.  Did I already say that? lol!

See! Chocolate of all kinds.  I usually hit up all the dollar stores to find my fun holiday chocolates at affordable prices.

Again, like I always say.....just use what you have to create some fun at the holidays!  It doesn't have to be expensive to be festive and fun!  our family will love whatever you come up with.

I love mixing in my vintage items to create a fun area in my home.  It's the perfect way to show off my treasures that I love so much.  I collect my old vintage things throughout the year by visiting Goodwill, thrift shops or vintage shops. Yard Sales are a good place to look too.

I hope yall have enjoyed this look at my vintage inspired cocoa bar and will be inspired to create your own.

Have a wonderful day!

It doesn't have to be done all at once.  It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!
