From Trash To Treasure - A Stool Makeover

You know its your lucky day when you find an old junky stool on the side of the road! Oh yeah, we were lucky like that! We literally took someone elses trash and made it into a sweet little treasure...for free, well almost!
Just a little paint and a piece of fabric and we've got a new stool to use in our bedroom.  It's best for putting on your shoes.
This is how it looked when we found it. Sad little beat up stool.  It was begging for a makeover! So.....
The top was all ripped up and stained with nail polish.  I'm sure it was well used by the looks of the poor ole thing!
I went to Walmart and got a little bit of fabric and a small can of paint to match our room.  Blues and browns.
First I took off the seat and painted the wood with the pretty blue paint and then aged it a bit with some stain.  I love doing that!
Next I took the sad little seat and covered it with the new fabric.  I added a layer of batting for some extra cushion.  I simply folded the fabric over the seat and used a staple gun to hold it in place.
Next I reattached the seat to the legs and it was ready to make an entrance into our room!
This whole little project only cost us about $8.  What a bargain for a sweet little stool to lend a "leg" when we put on our shoes!

It doesn't have to be done all at once.  It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!
