Using Thrifted Pieces in Your Farmhouse Decor

Hello there!  Well, my hubs and I have been employed long enough now that we can start looking for a new house.  We got pre qualified for financing and was pleasantly surprised that we could search for a home in the same range we were looking for before the lay off.  The reason I was surprised is because we both make considerably less than we were before layoffs. Our advisor explained that our debt free status was a huge help as well as our near perfect credit scores due to paying everything off! House hunting, here we come! Woohoo!

Don't give up on achieving a debt free status people, its amazing when you get there!

Ok, now for my topic of today, using vintage or thrifted pieces in your farmhouse decor.  Using vintage pieces in my home decor is what I love to do!  The thrill of the hunt is the best.  I get all excited when I find a fun piece at a great price. I'm a cheapskate! lol!
Almost everything you see in these photos is thrifted.  You get used to finding bargains to decorate your home when you're broke! :)
Today I'm showing you a pretty little table setting that can be used for Spring.  Obviously you won't have the same pieces as I do, but just shop your home and use what you have to recreate it if you want to.

I like layers in my place settings.  My straw charger is from Dollar General and the nest of eggs is from 4 Rooms in Greenville SC.  The rest of it was all found while I was out junk shopping!
My vintage silverware is a fun collection.  I recently found a huge box of kitchen wares for $10, at the bottom of this box was my surprise of about 50 pieces of vintage silverware! I was over the moon happy about that find!

HINT: Vintage silverware is a fun prop when creating place settings for Instagram photos!  Find me @ddcamp170 for more vintage goodies!
I created this centerpiece just by shopping my home for all things green.  It was my theme for this table setting.  The tallest piece was created by using a cupcake stand, a candle stick, a plate and a bunch of Walmart greenery.  I don't have to worry about my candle catching anything on fire because its not real! Yep, keep reading!
Another great idea for decorating any place in your home is candles.  These particular candles are real wax, flameless, remote control and have LED lights in them!  How cool is that?  I received them from Lamp Lust and I love using them in my decor.  They are perfect for table setting as you can see here.

I hope you enjoyed my table setting for today.  I also hope that you got some inspiration from my ideas for "cheapskate" decorating!  Seriously, you don't have to have loads of money to create pretty things in your home! :)

If you loved this idea and want to save it for later, be sure to pin it to your favorite Pinterest board.  I have a Pinterest board set up just for all things decor called Farmhouse Decor Ideas and all kinds of other fun stuff and, I'm pinning something new every day. Won't you join me?

GREAT NEWS!  I now have an Amazon Storefront!  If you ever want to purchase anything I'm showing you here, you can pop over to my shop and see what I've picked out for you! Click right here to visit. You can find this bedspread in the "For Our Home" section.

It doesn't have to be done all at once.  It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!
