Mother's Day Vintage Centerpiece

Happy Mother's Day!  I've created this sweet little centerpiece to celebrate Mama's Day!  It's a collection of several of my vintage goodies with a few newer items that I've thrifted.  Of course there are the beautiful fresh carnations to complete the piece.  I participated in an Instagram Tour with several other talented ladies with this centerpiece.  Visit me @ddcamp170 to take the tour, you won't be disappointed!
I started out with a couple of old law books that we won in an auction sale a long time ago.  We have several of them and I use them in my decor a lot!
Next I added a silver tray that I found at Goodwill for $3.  Its nice and tarnished, just the way I like it.
To the tray I started adding the smaller white pieces, mostly milk glass that I've thrifted here and there.  TIP:  Use different heights when arranging your pieces to make it more visually pleasing as well as allowing you to see everything you're placing.
I went ahead and staged two place settings just to show off my newest Pioneer Woman collection additions.  The Gorgeous Garden salad plates were a recent treat to myself! :)
I've had the solid set of dishes for several years now and the fun thing about her collection is that you can mix and match the patterns and they all look well together.  You can find a link to these pieces in my Amazon Shop, just click right here.
Another fun thing that I collect are beautifully old doilies.  I always wonder about the person who took the time to complete each tiny stitch that creates these works of art.  My collection is slowly growing and I love it!
If you want a flower that gives you more for your dollar, choose carnations.  Normally they are pretty inexpensive and they will well out last a lot of the other pretty flowers that you usually pay more for.  I love the way they smell too.
It doesn't take much to make your table special.  Just shop your home and use what you have, and if you have the extra dollars, get a few fresh flowers.  Perfect!  Of course this doesn't have to be for just Mother's Day, you could always create a beautiful centerpiece anytime, just because! :)

It doesn't have to be done all at once.  It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!

GREAT NEWS!  I now have an Amazon Storefront!  If you ever want to purchase anything I'm showing you here, you can pop over to my shop and see what I've picked out for you! Click right here to visit.

If you loved this idea and want to save it for later, be sure to pin it to your favorite Pinterest board.  I have a Pinterest board all set up just for Kitchen Goodness and I'm pinning something new every day.
