Healthier Chocolate Fruit Dip

Its been awhile since I posted a recipe, so what's better than something chocolate?  Not much in my books!  Chocolate and fluffy and kinda a little bit good for you! Yes please!  This is a Healthier Chocolate Fruit Dip.  Its delicious yall!
I found the recipe on Pinterest here.  I immediately pinned it because it looked and sounded delicious!  I doubled the recipe and used what I had on hand.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz low fat cream cheese (soften at room temperature)
  • 2/3 cup vanilla nonfat Greek yogurt (I used Toasted Coconut Vanilla)
  • 2 tblsp cocoa powder
  • 4 tblsp powdered sugar (add more to taste if needed)
  • 2 tblsp mini chocolate chips (add more to taste if needed)
  • Fresh fruit (bananas, apples, oranges, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) for dipping.

Using a hand mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add yogurt, cocoa powder and powdered sugar and beat on low until combined. Now is a good time to taste it and add more powdered sugar or more cocoa powder, if you "need" to.  Stir in chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on the top of the dip right before serving. Refrigerate or serve immediately. Cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge, it holds nicely.

The reason I doubled the recipe is so that it made a nice full bowl, ya know, prettier for presentation. lol! Yeah right!
Cut up all of your fruit of choice into manageable pieces and arrange on the plate to look pretty.  I cut the ends off of a wooden skewer to use for picking up the fruit pieces, or you can just use your fingers! I guess it depends on your company! lol!
We had pretzels too.  It was a good combination of the sweet and salty.  My favorite combination was the orange slices with the dip, so delicious!
If you saw my post lat week, I told you I was part of an Instagram Tour for those photos, well this is the same thing here.  Another IG tour to celebrate chocolate pieces day, which was last Wednesday.  You can see the tour here.  My honey bun doesn't usually reap the benefits of my photo shoots, but this time he thoroughly enjoyed himself at our Table for Two Fruit Dip Party!
My Pioneer Woman dishes are from Walmart, but I have them linked in my Amazon store if you're interested in seeing them.  Aren't they pretty?
You could create this dip for a get together or just have a little table for two party for that special someone on a Saturday afternoon, like we did. :)
I hope you try it and like it as much as we did.  We will definitely be making it again someday, but I probably wont double the recipe because, well, we'll just eat it! lol! :)

It doesn't have to be done all at once.  It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!

GREAT NEWS!  I now have an Amazon Storefront!  If you ever want to purchase anything I'm showing you here, you can pop over to my shop and see what I've picked out for you! Click right here to visit.

  2. Hi DeeDee!
This can be set up as an appetizer or a party all by itself! I will have to try orange slices with chocolate. I have never thought of that combination before. I bet it's good! Thanks for sharing at Homestyle Gathering!
