Welcome to Clover House!

This is the very first post to Clover House!  I'm excited to say that back in March Clover House was purchased in all its 1980's glory!  We have big dreams of bringing her into modern times.  She is a 1983 brick home consisting of 1548 square feet sitting on a little over an acre of earth and chocked full of DIY projects.

Here are just a few of her 1980 features:
  • Popcorn Ceilings
  • Baby Blue Toilet
  • Swirly Blue Faux Marble Vanities
  • Curling Linoleum Floors
  • Multi-Blue Colored Carpets
  • Harvest Gold Appliances
  • Harvest Gold Kitchen Sink
  • Lots of Wood Paneling
  • Green Floral Wall Paper

We hope to show you the before and after pictures of the projects we are tackling by ourselves. Oh and by the way...we are "renovation rookies"...in other words...we don't know what the heck we are doing! Ha!  We know what we want to do, research it on the Internet, watch lots of YouTube videos, ask friends and family lots of questions and then jump right off into the project at hand!

So, visit often and comment generously! We need all the cheers and suggestions you can offer! We hope to give you tips that we've learned along the way in hopes that they may help you if you ever decide to tackle your very own {Super Duper Fixer Upper}!

Before you go, please notice over to the upper right of the blog there is a list of "blogs you must visit"...oh you just gotta go visit them, they will inspire you and some will even make you laugh!  Lovely things to see, yummy thing to eat/make to eat and funny things to read. Oh and one more little thing...if you can't become a follower of Clover House, be sure to subscribe by email for all of our updates.

It doesn't have to be done all at once.  It is a slow process in the works! C-ya next time!

  2. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so very excited for you. When you told me you bought a "fixer-upper", I had all kinds of things imagined, but this looks like a great house from the outside! What a great lot it sits on. From your description of the inside, it sounds like lots of updating needs to happen. . .The previous owners sound like they sure liked blue! LOL And I certainly remember the "harvest gold" appliances. You've got your work cut out for you, but I know you will do a beautiful job with it. Can't wait to see the progress. I used to (in my very younger days) refurbish old Victorian homes. I lived in a house that had 6 fireplaces! It was a beauty. We stripped wallpaper (10-12 layers!), plaster repair, etc. etc. I'm very proud of you DeeDee! And I certainly wish you the best of luck. Best, Curt
